Better Than Botox

According to the official website, “Xeomin is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults for a short period of time.”

Xeomin vs. Botox:

Both Xeomin and Botox contain botulinum toxin type A which is a neurotoxin produced by Clostridium botulinum. Clostridium botulinum works by blocking neuromuscular signals to relax targeted muscles at the injection site.

The main difference between Xeomin and Botox is that Xeomin contains a “naked” form of botulinum toxin. Botox contains accessory proteins. Xeomin is designed to deliver the toxin without any protein additives. This purified structure may help prevent antibody resistance which has been seen with injections administered over a period of time.

What are the benefits of Xeomin?

Xeomin was approved by the FDA in 2011 to treat glabellar lines. Xeomin also offers other benefits, such as:

  • Smoothes fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead (frontalis), between the eyebrows (glabellar), around the eyes (crow’s feet) and around the mouth.
  • Prevents further wrinkling
  • Treatment time is less than half an hour
  • Recovery time is 4 hours. No exercising, tanning or manipulating the treated facial muscles
